The Netherlands, (Dutch: Nederland, also commonly called Holland in English) is a Benelux country, bordering Germany to the east and Belgium to the south. The people, language, and culture of the Netherlands are referred to as "Dutch". It is a dens ely populated country with its gorgeous capital Amsterdam being just one of many interesting cities. Once a great naval power, this small nation boasts a wealth of cultural heritage and is famous for its painters, windmills and clogs.Its small size,w elcoming attitude to travellers and many sights make it a unique and fairly easy to discover destination and a great addition to any European trip.

Tulips : The Kuekenhof, the world's largest flower gardens are famous for millions of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths blooming every year.
Canals :Amsterdam is known as the Venice of north because of the extensive network of canals. A canal tour is a great way of exploring the city.
Dutch Beer : Wash it all down with some world famous Dutch beer, or try Holland's favourite tipple `Jenever', (Dutch gin), which is made from distilled malt wine and juniper berries.
Historical Towns :Not to be missed are the old towns of Delft and Leiden both in the province of South Holland near The Hague.
Cheese Markets : Enjoy the spectacle of one of Holland's cheese markets, where thousands of wheels of cheese are lined up in rows.
