Sikkim the second smallest state in India. Located in the eastern Himalayan range. This state is home to India’s largest and World’s third highest elevated mount Kanchenjunga 8,586mt. (28,935 ft.). it bound by Tibet on north and northeast, Bhutan to the east, Nepal to the west and Bengal to the south. Sikkim also very near to the Siliguri corridor a 30km wide pass connects Northeast to rest of India. Sikkim was officially made a part of Indian union in the year 1975.

Kanchenjunga national park a UNESCO world heritage site spreads 35% of total area of Sikkim. Mount Kanchenjunga is visible from almost all corners of the state. Sikkim is one of the largest producers of Cardamom and Spices along with tea plantation is a major agricultural business.

In addition to this North Sikkim is least populated area also possessed high raising mountains, emerald lakes and colorful Rhododendron and orchid flower valleys towards Tibet border. A part of old Silk route (Ancient road network that use for trade, connects Asia to the Middle East, Europe and Africa) also passes through East Sikkim this is closed after Sino- India war in 1963 and reopened in the year 2006 only for commercial purposes.

Darjeeling “The Queen of Mountains” located on elevation of 2,042mt. (6,700ft.) spread in ribbons over a steep of mountain ridge, surrounded by emerald- green tea plantations and with a backdrop of jagged white Himalayan peaks floating over distant clouds, the archetypal hill station of Darjeeling is rightly West Bengal’s premier attraction.

Notes :

  • Travellers must carry personal Identity card (PAN card not accepted) along with 2 photos to obtain permit to Nathula pass.
  • Foreigners are not allowed to Nathula pass, Zero point, Gurudongmar lake, Indians do also need to obtain permits to visit above destinations which we can easily get done at tourist office in Gangtok or go through the reputed and government registered travel agents.
  • Oxygen levels are very low at Gurudongmar lake, Zero point a high elevated places do carry required medicine in advance, avoid if you have serious illness.
  • Children aged below 5 years are not allowed to visit Lachen and Lachung due to extreme weather conditions.
  • Carry suitable clothes, shoes and gloves to avoid inconvenience.
Day 1: Arrive at Bhagdogra/ NJP transfer to Gangtok (128km 4:30hrs journey Approx.)

welcome to the Darjeeling& Gangtok with North Sikkim tour, on arrival in Bhagdogra Airport/ NJP Railway station our Holiday pack tour representative will meet you and transfer to Gangtok. After reaching to Gangtok we Check-in hotel, freshen up and have a Lunch. Then proceed to M.G. Marg, this place is a must visit because a visit to Gangtok is incomplete if you miss this Boulevard square. It is a pedestrian zone, no vehicles are allowed and it is also No smoking zone a litter free area. M.G. Marg is a long stretch of open mall or boulevard square where local and tourists take leisure stroll or just sit and relax on one of many benches laid along road. The road is lined up with glittering shops, restaurants, cafes& bars on both sides.

Rest of the evening is free for your own activities.

Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake – Baba Mandir – Nathula pass (Indo-Tibet China Border)

Today morning after having a delicious breakfast at hotel we proceed to Tsomgo (Changu) Lake this scenic high-altitude lake located in the elevation 3,780mt. (12,400ft.) a 38km far from Gangtok is madly popular with Indian travelers.

Baba Harbhajan Singh Temple located between Nathula and Jeepla pass at an altitude of 13,123 ft. a 16km further journey from Changu lake, Harbhajan Singh was a sentry of Punjab regiment and was posted here as part of border patrol force. In October 1968 he disappeared. It is said that while escorting mules carrying provisions, he fell into a stream and drowned. After a few days he reappeared in the dreams of one of his sentry colleagues and asked him to make a memorial on his name. many sentries believe that Harbhajan comes here every night as his camp bed sheet gets crumpled every morning and his polished shoes turn muddy in the evening. Nathula Pass only Indian citizens are permitted to continue 18km along the spectacular road from Changu lake this is located on the elevation 4130mt. (13,500ft.) Nathula pass Literally means (Listening Ears Pass) is on India- China border, old silk route is passes through this area, this area is covered with the snow throughout the year and requires permit to visit this area and in the months of December and January temperature levels drops up to -25 degrees.

Day 3: Gangtok local sightseeing – Darjeeling (100km 4:00hrs journey Approx.)

Today morning after having a breakfast we head for sightseeing of Gangtok literally means “Hill Top”. we cover Namgyal Institute of Tibetology this fantastic museum housed in a traditional Tibetan-style mansion boasts a jaw- dropping collection of artefacts related to Vajrayana Buddhism and Tibetan culture established in 1958 to promote scholastic and cultural research. Gangtok Rope way, Tashi viewpoint we can get spectacular views of Mt. Kanchenjunga from here, Ganesh Tok (Temple) viewpoint festooned in colorful prayer flags, Ganesh Tok offers superb city views. Hanuman Tok (Temple) another impressive viewpoint, sits on a hilltop around 4km drive from Ganesh Tok, Bakthang waterfall, Flower exhibition center a modestly sized greenhouse full of exotic orchids, anthuriums and Easter lilies. Return to the hotel in the afternoon have a lunch and head towards Darjeeling. Check-in hotel in the late afternoon and evening is free for your own activities.

Day 4: Darjeeling sightseeing

Darjeeling 2,042mt. (6,700ft.) is regarded as Queen of mountains, this early morning (04:00 am) we start exploring this with Tiger hill gives a spectacular view of Mt. Kanchenjunga when sun rising, then Batasia loop a war memorial. After having a breakfast, we further visit Tibetan Refugee self-help center which along with a school, orphanage and clinic, offers craft and gompa workshops for wood carving leather work, carpet weaving. We can purchase handicrafts from here. Bhutiya Busty Gompa which houses the original manuscript copy of the Tibetan book of dead. Darjeeling Zoo and natural History Museum. Himalayan mountaineering Institute built to honour Tenzing Norgay’s triumph to the Everest and is dedicated to providing mountaineering and rock-climbing lessons to the students from all over the World. Happy valley tea estates exports tea to the most parts of world. Tenzing & Gombu rock a climbing rocks, even Late prime minister Mr.Nehru climbed during his visit to Darjeeling. Later return to Hotel and evening is free for your own activities

Day 5: Transfer to Bhagdogra Airport/ NJP Railway Station (70km 2:30hrs journey Approx.)
