An amazing journey that will let you explore the picturesque landscapes of the Land of the High Passes – Ladakh! Discover the pristinely beautiful Pangong Lake, admire the many colorful monastries, hills, valleys and snow-capped mountains of Leh and witness the land of martyrs, Kargil on this tour.
‘I-Fly Tour’ Guests will meet at Delhi Airport, as per the scheduled flight departure time and proceed to Leh. Welcome to Leh – the second largest district in India. Upon arrival we have free time for acclimatization. In the evening, we enjoy the folk dance show and get acquainted with the culture of Leh.
Today we proceed to Alchi. En route, we visit Magnetic Hill, Patthar Sahib Gurudwara and Sangam of the rivers Indus & Zanskar followed by visits to Moon land & Lamayuru Monastery. Later we visit Alchi Gompa – mainly known for its magnificent and well preserved 11th & 12th century wall paintings, all in an Indo-Himalayan style. Overnight stay at Kargil.
Today we visit Dras War Memorial, also known as Vijay Memorial – built in the memory of the martyr soldiers of the 1999 Kargil War. The museum at this war memorial exhibits army emblems, model of the Himalayan Mountain Range and archives of the documents. There is a special War Gallery named after Captain Manoj Kumar, housing photographs and weapons. The walls have the names of the soldiers who sacrificed their life in the war. In the evening, we arrive in Leh.
Today we proceed to Nubra Valley via Khardung La (La means ‘Pass’ in Tibetan). Khardungla is the world’s highest motorable pass. Nubra Valley is where the Shyok River meets the Siachen River to form a large valley separating the Ladakh and Karakoram ranges. We also visit the Cold desert.
Today in the morning, we visit Diskit – Future Bhuddha and then we return to Leh.
Today we enjoy the day at Pangong Tso, also known as Pangong Lake. The most notable feature of this lake are its ever-changing hues. The lake acts as an important breeding ground for a large variety of migratory birds like Brahmani Ducks, Rare black necked cranes and Seagulls.
Please Note: It’s likely that the government authorities may disallow overnight stays at Pangong for tourists. In such a situation, we will re-adjust the itinerary and have a day trip to Pangong. We will keep you updated regarding the same.
Today we return to Leh. En route we visit Shey Palace, which was the summer retreat of the kings of Ladakh, the Indus River, Hemis Gompa – believed to be the wealthiest and the biggest monastery in Leh and Rancho School (subject to operation)
Today we visit the Hall of Fame War Museum & Shanti Stupa – built to promote world peace and prosperity and to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism. Later in the evening, we have free time for our favourite activity – Shopping!
